It’s St. Patrick’s Day. Time to get your green on. Most people get into the spirit with green clothes or accessories or beer… but there are those who dye everything around them an emerald hue.

For St. Patrick’s Day, Fox pulled out 10 celebratory tidbits on the Patron Saint of the Irish. Here’s a few, in summary.

That’s a catchy title, eh? I have to admit, I did not make it up… I stole the subject from a website called SheKnows, a potpourri of exciting articles for the ladies. I don’t want to spoil the ending, but the green food coloring dye did it.

Not that we don’t already celebrate St. Paddy’s day like the ordained father of all holiday’s, but this time of the year Guinness hauls out it’s campaign to promote Proposition 3-17, a mission to get one million signatures on their petition to make St. Patrick’s Day an official holiday.

It’s not easy being green. But that doesn’t stop millions of happy, drunk Irishmen or their boy-o’s from celebrating St. Patrick’s Day every year. March 17th is when the big drinkers come out to play. Thank God for the patron saint of beer. Paddy will be looking down over our shoulders, as he does every March, making sure that everyone has enough beer to flush a blarney stone and enough corned beef to clog at least two ventricles and your left atrium.

For St. Patrick’s Day every year the buddies got together and honor our favorite saint by drinking ourselves into a stupor that would make any off-the-boat Irishman proud.

I have completely hijacked this Corned Beef recipe to make it my own! After 10 years of making it, I know how to do it right.

Corned beef and cabbage aren’t the only staple on St. Patrick’s Day.

I enjoy having a selection of Irish beers to choose from when the St. Patrick’s Day parade comes through my town. It is because of this that I stumbled across Caffrey’s Irish Ale a few years back while trying to stock the shelves with some variety from Ireland.

March 17th may be the greatest day corned beef has ever known, but the day after St. Pat’s is the perfect time to mince the remains of the previous day into a hash fit to side the breakfast of kings.
