As America’s interest in homebrewing and craft beer is at an all time high, Jim Koch and the brewers at Samuel Adams are fostering the talents of aspiring homebrewers by offering their unique recipes to craft beer drinkers across the country as winners of the 2008 Samuel Adams American Homebrew Contest.
Three 2008 winners have been named from 1,300-plus entries and they’ve come together in the 2009 “Samuel Adams LongShot Variety Package,” a six-pack with two bottles of each.
The six-pack will be available nationwide in select retail stores in April, 2009 for $10. The variety pack will include two bottles each of Alex Drobshoff’s Traditional Bock (a bright copper German inspired bock), Mike McDole’s Double IPA (a hoppy, full-bodied pale ale with strong spicy, floral and citrus aromas) and Carissa Sweigart’s Cranberry Wit (a blend of cinnamon, orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise with hints of cranberry).
Even though you only have until May 1, you can still enter the 2009 contest to be considered for next years’ contest. Aspiring homebrewers can check the rules online at www.SamuelAdams.com.
