Move Over Mayo, Baconnaise is Here to Stays

by David Lauterbach
2009 February 25

Just when I was getting over the recent excitement of the Bacon Explosion (the BBQ sausage recipe of all recipes), this month’s Wired magazine introduced me to Baconnaise, a spreadable hammy condiment that I had to get my hands on immediately to test and review.

Well, thanks to e-commerce my Baconnaise is on its ways, but meanwhile the spread hit the fan… on tonight’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart sang the praises of Baconnaises. OK, not really… he more used it as a visual prop to help punctuate Bobby Jindal’s statement last night that yes, “American’s can do anything!”

Justin and Dave, two American bacontrepreneurs and the founders of J&D’s, made Baconnaise and BaconSalt because it’s their “dream to make everything taste like bacon.” I can only say, God bless you gentleman and may all of your dreams come true.

Baconnaise is available in regular version and a lite version (for those of you watching your daily bacon input).

I’ll report back–hopefully, excitedly–when I get my chops on my Baconnaise. Meanwhile, you can visit the Baconnaise site for Justin and Dave’s blog, along with recipes that include the bacony ingredient (Baconnaise Deviled Eggs anyone?)

I buy Baconnaise (Lite) at Wal-Mart. I love it!
