I use my gas grill 90% of the time. I’m a busy person, and you just can’t beat the instant on, controlable heat source. But a couple of times a year when I have the time for some REAL grilling, I fire up my Weber Kettle grill using a Weber chimney starter. This is an inexpensive device that works on the principal that heat rises to help speed up the process of heating coals. It makes starting a fire simple and it does not require nasty lighter fluid. I put a little vegetable oil on some crumpled up newspaper in the bottom of the chimney, place the chimney in the kettle, and light the paper. Something like 10 or 15 minutes later, the charcoal is ready to dump and spread into the grill.
