    Spent about $30, and really liked the results of perfectly temp’d meat, it just didn’t last long enough.<br />

    I read on some other sites that apparently the heat of the metal lid on a grill or smoker and cause the wires inside the probe to melt and short out. This is probably what happened. It worked fine with my Weber, but went haywire when I used my smoker.<br />

    I may just buy another brand of digital meat thermometer, and see if the probes are interchangeable, just for future knowledge.<br />
