Just to clarify a bit – just because their noses look different and one got her finger crushed doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not they’re twins, identical or fraternal…
First off, a discrepancy due to a physical accident at any point after birth has absolutely nothing to do with their genetic makeup, hence the crushed finger makes no difference. This could also explain the noses if one had been broken in childhood (or anytime before this informant met them).
The height thing? I went to high school with a pair of identical twins, and yes, one was also about an inch taller than the other because the shorter girl suffered from scoliosis, to which both were predisposes but which only manifested in one.
Moreover, your allegation that "Diane is like 8 minutes older than Elaine" supports their being twins, rather than argues against it.
Bottom line is, your twin fantasies of these sisters can still be completely valid as such.
Rant’s over, thanks for your time.
