Anheuser-Busch will tap into the world?s growing online community (get it, "tap" into!) by launching an internet-based entertainment network called Bud.TV.

The site will feature 24-hour live and on-demand programming including humorous webisodes, sporting events, consumer-generated content, field news reports, celebrity interviews, music downloads and comedian vignettes.

The press release reads as if the PR guy never heard of iFilm, Atom Films, YouTube or Google Video, with phrases like "first-of-its-kind initiative," "emerging media" and "unique online network."

Aside from the fact that this site will serve AB as one big commercial for Budweiser, the real reason that this won’t take off is their "innovative desktop application" that will be used to view the content. Can you say "Windows-only app with ads wrapped in ads?"

All this excitement is slated to launch in February 2007.
