    As a Fire Officer of 18 years experience, I know that this will end in tears.<br />
    Aluminium is not made to take the radiated heat from a fire.<br />
    It melts at 387C, which is too low for what you are proposing it to do.<br />
    Not only that, it melts suddenly, it has no "Eutectic" state between hard and soft.<br />
    Other side of the coin, it would make a great smoking chamber, provided the heat was kept low and the wood was allowed to simply smoke.<br />
    Rather hard to fabricate into a good smoker though.
