Jovita Juarez is among those who says beer companies have hijacked Cinco de Mayo like they hijacked St. Patrick’s Day, and are turning it into an excuse to sell liquor. Juarez says turning Cinco de Mayo into an excuse to sell booze is a bad idea.<br />

Cinco de Mayo is a relatively minor regional holiday in Mexico, but it is not widely celebrated as a drinking holiday across the country.<br />
