The first season of Iron Chef America will hit the Food Network’s lineup this Sunday, January 16th at 9PM ET.<br />

The show will include American Iron chefs Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Masaharu Morimoto, as well as Good Eats chef/scientist <a href="https://www.briansbelly.com/featured/altonbrown/"><strong>Alton Brown</strong></a> who has the role of play-by-ingredient commentator.<br />

Late in the season, Kitchen Stadium will host the induction of the first female Iron Chef, Cat Cora an ex-chef at Postino in California and a star of the Food Network’s "Kitchen Accomplished." Contenders for the Iron Chef title include Rick Bayless, Roberto Trevino and Michael Laiskonis.<br />

The show has also gone interactive. The official <a href="http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/news/ny-foodcov4110803jan12,0,4026617.story"><strong>Food Network site</strong></a> will have live trivia games, voting and chats for all the hardcore fans. Just watch out for pesky streaming commercials.<br />
