Anheuser-Busch announced the launch of Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale at the Great American Beer Festival. This is the first in a series of four seasonal draughts the brewer plans to introduce, further saturating the market with strange brews with odd names that don’t sell well or taste good (B to the E and Tilt… I’m looking in your direction).

According to the press release, Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale is "created using a special pumpkin variety known as ‘Golden Delicious’…that have a distinctive blend of harvest spices including cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves."

"Brewing seasonal beers allows us to stay close to our roots," said Florian Kuplent, brewmaster of Anheuser-Busch, Inc. We think Florian meant to say "tastes like roots," but we’ll see.

Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale (5.5 percent ABV) will be available for a limited time until mid- December, with a winter brew to follow in January, a spring brew in April and a summer brew in July.
Any guesses as to the names of the other beers? Kringle’s Jingle Beer? April Fool Ale? Young Spring Busch? Add yours below.
