    MOSCOW – Russia’s consumer rights watchdog said Monday that 35,900 people died from alcohol poisoning in 2005.<br />
    <br />
    The preliminary report published by the Federal Service for the Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare says 13.4% of all accidental deaths in Russia are caused by poisoning from alcohol and alcohol derivates. In 2003 and 2004, alcohol poisoning caused 40,567 and 42,715 deaths respectively.<br />
