Food Network announced they will begin production of Iron Chef America on October 7th. The decision to make the new series was based on the popularity of several Iron Chef America specials that aired earlier this year.<br />

The 10 new episodes will begin airing in January 2005 (apparently ANY number of episodes is now considered a season in the television world). <br />

No word on whether the original competing American chefs–who included Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck, as well as Good Eats chef/scientist Alton Brown who held the role of play-by-ingredient commentator–will be invloved, although they are pretty much needed if the show will be a success.
