I’ve seen many endorsements of very good beer in this forum. Some obviously come from beer snobs who would rather sound elitist than actually drink good beer (like that canadian who claims he can’t find a good US brew) and some come from people who seem to be just getting started in the world of beer (more power to you – keep drinking!)<br />

I would like to commend those who suggested dortmunder gold and pilsner urquell (have it with oysters, you’ll be surprised).<br />

But the suggestion I have is the Anchor Liberty Ale out of San Francisco. It is good. It’s an IPA in style but instead of just having brutal bitterness like most IPAs, it has a beautiful floral/fruity nose and appears very balanced on the palate. The bitterness is offset by an underlying fruitiness that makes it all work.<br />
