How hot is too hot?

Red Savina HabaneroNow on to the king. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, the hottest pepper ever tested was a Red Savina Habanero, which was Scoville rated up to 570,000. If you dare, you can buy a few products made with this patented pepper from Rim Of Fire. Just remember, it's almost as hot coming out as it is going in.

UPDATE: Check out Brian's Belly News for info about the hottest thing around- India May Grow World's Hottest Chili.

PepperSpeaking of getting it in... you have probably already heard that water is not the answer to a blistering mouth. We hate to be the one's to tell you this, but neither is beer. Beer and water just tend to spread the pepper oils around in your mouth. Everyone always tells you to drink milk to ease the heat... but here at The Belly we say "if you can't take the heat, you're a pussy." So the next time someone's looking to cool down their buds, hit 'em with our addage then take a sip from your brew and grin at them while they gasp for air.

And speaking of getting it out... we recommend having a linen closet full of Charmin and a can of air freshener close to the toilet before you drop a chalupa. You may have punished your stomach, but your ass is worth it.
