  • Thank you, Conan O’Brien. The new Tonight Show host piqued my taste buds earlier when he mentioned Bakon Vodka in his monologue. Bakon Vodka is a “superior quality potato vodka with a savory bacon flavor.”

  • MillerCoors has recalled a batch of Coors Light in the Southeastern United States after taste tests at the company’s Georgia brewery found the beer to be subpar… which makes me wonder why it wasn’t recalled YEARS ago.

  • The Food Network has a casting call for the Food Network Challenge. They are looking for outgoing families who are competitive, have a great story as well as unique Thanksgiving food traditions to battle in a nationally televised Thanksgiving meal competition.

  • The Washington Post has an interesting article about the largest small-brewer of them all, Sam Adams. Perhaps as early as this year Boston Beer–the brewers of Samuel Adams–will no longer be considered a craft brewer.

  • When I have the time for some REAL grilling, I fire up my Weber Kettle grill using a Weber chimney starter. This is an inexpensive device that works on the principal that heat rises to help speed up the process of heating coals.

  • I received an email yesterday from Brookstone promoting the tools and accessories they sell for “a successful BBQ.” I took one look at some of the crappy things they were pushing and decided to list the caveats of 5 items that jumped out at me… maybe the things you wouldn’t think about before you purchase these–either for yourself or for a gift.
