iGrill is a Bluetooth Thermometer for your iPhone

Do you still walk all the way over to the oven or grill to check the temperature of the meat your cooking? Well, now there’s an App for that. The iGrill is an iPhone-compatible, bluetooth-enabled meat thermometer that let’s you check in on your food from any room in the house.

Like other wireless thermometers, a probe goes into your food and a transmitter beams temperature readings to your hip… but unlike other wireless thermometers, this one uses your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch’s display to monitor readings, set alarms and check-in on Foursquare (OK, I added that one… but hey, why not?)

The transmitter can also be used without an iDevice, and it’s actually quite spiffy looking. The manufacturer boasts that it has a “secure, long-range Bluetooth® connection” which is good, because you wouldn’t want someone to hack into your thermometer. Imagine the damage they could do to your dinner.

$100 is a little steep when popular 400/900Mhz wireless thermometers can get the job done if you really hate walking over to your food. But that might be the price you pay to be on the cutting edge of iOS bluetooth thermometer technology.
