Don’t Forget: Alcohol May Stave Off Alzheimer’s

We love when we read that alcohol is good for you. According to the HealthDay department at U.S. News, drinking light to moderate amounts of alcohol may actually lower the risk for developing both Alzheimer’s and some forms of age-related dementia.

The German researchers behind the study are quick to point out that full-fledged alcohol abuse accounts for about 10 percent of all dementia cases, but they report that consumption of just one to two drinks a day appears to protect against the overall incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

So dementia and Alzheimer’s can join cancer and heart health on the list of reasons why alcohol is so damn good for you.
