I Can Cook: Cooking Show For Kids

by David Lauterbach
2009 June 19

Start getting your baby’s belly fat early… UK children’s show CBeebies is producing a new cooking show called “I Can Cook” with the goal of getting preschoolers interested in food and cooking.

I Can Cook offers a hands-on approach to cooking and investigates where the food in the kitchen and table comes from.  Set in a kid-friendly kitchen, each episode will feature host Katy Ashworth and five kids in making simple recipes while investigating the ingredients and taking part in games and activities.

I Can Cook is slated to debut in fall 2009.  I have no idea if it will be on here in the U.S., but this series looks like Sesame Street meets Teletubbies and may already be something you watch with your kids for all I know.

Of course, if this show were created for the U.S., it would be a reality show with a Lord of the Flies vibe and sponsored by McDonald’s. USA! USA!

I watch this with my kids, and i must say its quite good.

i think its a good idea to teach the youth of today about what some foods are and where they come from, and it also gets them interested in the healthier side of cooking too, opposed to just eating Junk all the time.
