As Johnny LaRue on SCTV, he epitomized the guy who is a blowhard, but in reality is full of sh*t, and he knows it! No one was as good as Candy in portraying someone who has just been totally humiliated, but still puts up a dignified front (with the exception of Oliver Hardy, the comedian he most resembles, physically and as a character).
