  • Sometimes I hate to blog about things that everyone else is talking about. But we cover beer news, and you may have heard some mention about the so-called “beer summit” that President Obama will be arranging. Our take? Too bad they’ll be drinking foreign beer.

  • What started as a college drinking game is expanding beyond the frat house. Beer Pong leagues are popping up around the country–and there’s actually some substantial money in the game for expert players.

  • MillerCoors has recalled a batch of Coors Light in the Southeastern United States after taste tests at the company’s Georgia brewery found the beer to be subpar… which makes me wonder why it wasn’t recalled YEARS ago.

  • The Food Network has a casting call for the Food Network Challenge. They are looking for outgoing families who are competitive, have a great story as well as unique Thanksgiving food traditions to battle in a nationally televised Thanksgiving meal competition.

  • When I have the time for some REAL grilling, I fire up my Weber Kettle grill using a Weber chimney starter. This is an inexpensive device that works on the principal that heat rises to help speed up the process of heating coals.

  • I received an email yesterday from Brookstone promoting the tools and accessories they sell for “a successful BBQ.” I took one look at some of the crappy things they were pushing and decided to list the caveats of 5 items that jumped out at me… maybe the things you wouldn’t think about before you purchase these–either for yourself or for a gift.
